At this point, I feel that game developers know what is wrong with most issues in-game. Unfortunately, with each change they try to make... they end up breaking something else. The organization is at the point that they would be better off releasing World of Warcraft II. Learn the lessons from Classic, and improve upon that with Retail polish (keeping external corporate influence out of the process). An MMORPG cannot exist if players have roadblocks to playing together.
why? terrible change
This is a horrible change. I wouldn't call it game breaking, but it's close. Imagine the world boss is up, you fly over to kill it, get into the area so the quest pops up and you hit the LFG tool (all Blizzard stock UI functions) and then... you fly back to the capital and fly back. WHY?I understand some people use shards "negatively" to get more gathering nodes or avoid pvp. Maybe focus on how to "fix" what you think is an abuse. Using the recent Death Rising as an example, I would need to send an invite to group with a friend (or even my wife!) who is in a different shard waiting for the same boss. Now I'd have to fly back to Dalaran? Even if only restricted to SL it is a bad move. And no it's not a bug. There is a screen shot, with a tool tip, specifically telling you how to get into another shard. A bug means your horns vanished when putting on a helm. This is a change, though if it's unpopular enough maybe it'll be reversed.
I welcome this change. If they make it so that you are automatically phased with guild members and/or friends, I see no problem here. To be honest, the phasing is breaking game in so many ways. You attack rare, out of nowhere, Horde group phases in, kill you, and the rare, before you can assemble revenge group, they phase out. People are also hopping from one "phase" to another just so that they get access to everything instantly. I mean sure, it saves you some time, but at the same kills the "living world" aspect of the game and immersion. Of course, there should be some balance so that it doesnt prohibit people from doing group world quests, but I think they went too far in the past with all the phasing and instant lfg groups (at least there is not that addon that automatically creates groups anymore - because the purpose of group content from the design perspective should be cooperation and communication, non of which happened during those times) and I appreciate that they are trying to do something with the issue.
Again a change to force players their vision of how to play down the throat. While I do understand realm hopping to farm rare stuff isn't exactly intended, they have been making group play more and more annoying after legion. Quests constently phase you away from each other, many many objectives are not shared... heck sometime you even "steal" stuff from your own group making grouping effectivly more annoying than playing alone.2 hours ago we had to figure this out and were hoping the phasing change was a bug... what naive fooles we sometimes are. Again I dont mind them trying to break rarefarming this way (whyever) but why make grouping such a hassle....
C'mon blizz, I just wanted help to kill a damn wanted enemy, you know, the quests that say 'you should use a group!' this is the worst change. My shard was already empty as hell and had only the opposite faction around. Not to mention what this will be like for world bosses at the very least. Change it back.
Could this be some sort of response to the way people ran dozens of alts through one Soundless spawn to get a chance at a mount? It seemed broken that a rare mob would state engaged and alive for 30 mins at a time while people cycled alts through groups with tags. This seems to challenge that idea by forcing people to leave an army of spawn camper alts in a sanctuary and force them to fly them over. Not suggesting this is a good change, this is bad for me who almost always plays grouped, but it could be why.
Such a bloody stupid change, so what's the point of Elite WQs that require a group -- sit around waiting in your current Shard for others to possibly never show up?
This is really frustrating! Why are they making it harder to play with others? And how do we know where the sanctuaries are? Just a place with a FP? My friend and I were questing in the same zone and same quests and logged out in the same place and tried to re-group and we are in different phases. WTH! Uncool, Blizz. Uncool.
So .... low pop players are never gonna be able to do elite world quests then.Oh and people in a faction-imbalanced realm are practically forbidden from playing in war mode if they're on the wrong side of the scale ...
This is one thing for using the group finder (though rip world bosses), but another for just grouping up with friends. Blue reply would be pretty useful right about now.
Interesting change, probably intended to make realms feel more concrete instead of just one spawn point of many. Still, players will need to be weaned....
Noticed this in Maldraxxus, trying to do a Theater of Pain related quest. Thought something was broken, tried with warmode on and warmode off. What an absolutely infuriating change. If they're going to keep this change at least automatically mark if a leader has WM on or off in the group finder...
How will this make grouping up with other players more fun? Very weird change that creates more problems than it solves IMO.
terrible. just. terrible.they obviously do not want mount collectors to save any time.like why would you wanna make it harder to group up? that goes against everything about MMOs
This might actually be the worst change they ever put into this game
Yes, our large multi-server guild encountered this repeatedly last night. This is a real bummer for those of us who like to quest and kill rares, wpvp, etc with others. thumbs down.
