"And the most drastic change of all, deleting world buffs from the game, entirely. This change is pretty drastic as it takes out a whole corner of the game that many players enjoy. Believe it or not, some players out there enjoy raid logging, as surprising as that might sound. Some players can't play every day and enjoy having an "excuse" to not be able to log in, because they are "locked in world buff jail" as many players put it. But deleting world buffs from the game would solve all the issues facing the Classic community, but at what cost?"There's no possible way this is a thing. If you don't want to log in or aren't able to log in during the day... then just don't log on? I don't see why people would have to use an excuse to not log in. Are people so spineless they can't just say something like "Hey sorry I can't do strat UD runs with you guys tonight, I've got other plans."Now if you want to use the argument against getting rid of world buffs because people like the large amount of extra dps they get from them then fine, that's a much more reasonable discussion to have.
I'd like them removed when you zone in, content is so easy - if they want to keep world buffs as something that happens why not make it instance buffed, while in X raid you gain, X world buff.. they could spread them between the instances.. so it doesn't matter if you die it reapplies.. but without any whats so ever would work also.
As much as I don't like world buffs, having them just vanish on zoning in doesn't really feel fun or interesting and it feels like some optional stuff is being removed for arbitrary reasons. Sure purging them in PvP is basically just griefing but welcome to a PvP server, it's going to be unpleasant at times.Having someone you need to talk to get a buff? Not fond of it but I could see a way to make it work. When someone drops it, it buffs everyone like normal, and if you talk to that character for 30 minutes after, you can also get the buff. This puts you on an internal cooldown that lines up with the next buff drop reset no matter how or when you get it. Meaning you can't just always run back and get another and you can't just always go run to them and get the buff whenever. People still have to farm the content for the buff triggers too, so the heads and hearts still have a reason to exist and people to do that content other than the items they give, all that really changes is there is a much more forgiving window for getting your buff.Buffs are totally optional, even Naxxramas didn't assume everyone had every buff under the sun, even if they did develop it with the intent of consumables and some other buffs. If you really want to get your buff rainbow, go ahead, be that person and do those things you do, or if you're part of a guild where that's mandatory you knew what you signed up for.I don't see an issue of people who want to log out and sit on their buffs for days. Again, that's sort of what we just have to deal with. If they're really upset, they'll make an alt or schedule around their raid buffs if it really matters that much to them. Again, onus is totally on them to figure out what they value. Making the buffs a little bit more forgiving but not super overwhelmingly easy to just walk up and snatch is where I draw the line.
I know you're there Blizzard, please just remove world buffs when zoning in. Due to the nature of my server buffs need to be picked up days before raiding to avoid pvp on a pvp server
Realize that the problem isn't the World Buffs, it's the fact that the circumstances which held World Buffs in check are no longer present. Gone are the days of sudden massive server latency spikes killing several people before healers can respond. Spotty DSL and dial-up connections for 1/2 your raid no longer prevent effective buff training. 10,000 person servers mean "somebody" will almost always be dropping a buff before a raid.If you want the real Vanilla experience, either form a raid guild that requires all players click off all buffs at zone in, or make everyone mod their routers to sporadically cut their internet connections for 2-30 seconds two to twenty times an hour 😃. But don't try to justify making everyone play the way you want to just because you're insecure.
Missing two options.1. No world buffs active in non-instanced world. All WBuffs automatically added and active in Raids.2. All WBuffs are always active at all times. You get both then. WBuff meta gone. Same level of difficulty in raids.
Just remove world buffs, it balances the game and makes naxx harder.
Now i realize the wow community did not deserve vanilla servers, this is not how vanilla was supposed to be, ppl back then didnt care so much about min maxing, you can clear raids just fine without world buffs, nobody is forcing u to stay logged off to preserve your wbuff. Blizz should not cave in to ppls complaints, i have complaints aswell, lvling is too slow, gear is hard to get, farming mats is boring, but i realize that THIS IS HOW VANILLA WAS MEANT TO BE, if you want to play wow with a bunch of QOL improvements then just play retail
What about no Changes and keep Classic as much as it was. If you want better Changes Play on private server
Y'all wanted the vanilla experience, so that's what you're getting. This is like moving from the city to a rural area and then whining about the poop smell from a nearby farm.
Since its Netease who controls wow in China this isnt some sort of "Blizzard" decision so expecting this to come to other regions is not smart.
I would consider making a toy you can purchase at a vendor after completing the turn-in quest on that character. That way you an use the toy for the world buff anytime you want. To balance, make the toy version of the buff auto-purge upon entering a raid instance (not raid group, since world bosses are a thing in Classic).
Leave it the same since they go away in BC
