Former Lead Systems Designer Ghostcrawler has
returned to playing WoW
after a long break, so we're covering news like it's 2013 and highlighting his interesting Twitter insights! A few days ago he
shared general thoughts on leveling and BFA Chromie Time
and now he discusses leveling a Warrior in Pandaria.
We learn that the introductory experience for MoP started off pretty lackluster for the Alliance, so the battle with the Horde was added.
Ghostcrawler has decided to level his Pandaria character as Fury, noting how the spec has evolved over the years. We learn that he liked naming Warrior mechanics and wielding two weapons for aesthetics.
Ghostcrawler closes with a general observation on Mists of Pandaria marketing, wishing that Pandaria wasn't totally branded as an expansion around the Pandaren. While he doesn't go into reasons, one could surmise this could be due to the 'lol panda' memes overshadowing the nuance of the story, or how major themes of the expansion were poorly conveyed through marketing, such as the Alliance/Horde conflict and Garrosh's character development.
He also reveals that the Mogu were a pretty last-minute addition because the villains were getting repetitive, which is interesting to hear following BFA as the Mogu made a surprise appearance in Zandalar.
Do you agree with Ghostcrawler's thoughts on leveling? If you're leveling yourself, why not check out our leveling guides -

"Kind of wish we had just made an Asian themed continent with Pandaren in it instead of branding the whole expansion around Pandaren."
Omg that'd been so much better. Imagine Blizzard actually pulling a compelling world fantasy right there.
Whats the difference between an Asian themed continent with Pandaren from what we've got?

Hopefully he’ll come back and save this train wreck.

An Asian-themed continent would have allowed more variety of dominant cultures than just Pandaren, mogu and bugs. Right now, Pandaria is a continent dominated by the Pandaren in every single zone. All the major storylines either have them front and center or are heavily tangential to them anyway.

That's like complaining that Durotar is full of orcs and Thundertotem full of tauren, lol. Of course there are mostly pandas in Pandaland, what were you people expecting, another elf splinter race called the mist'dorei?
There were more than enough races for such a small land, more would have been just greed and probably made the other ones underdeveloped. Remember that it was not only pandaren, mogu and mantid, but also hozen, jinyu, saurok, grummle, yaungol, zandalari trolls...
I think most people don't take Pandaria as a whole into consideration and forget that it is way bigger, deeper and more complex than the very generalistic "lol pandas" strokes.

Nothing really. If they would've just rebranded the same content we got into an Asian-feel expansion and not a lol-Kung-Fu Panda one, people would have received it differently.
The wrapping was dumb, the expansion was amazing.

I wonder if he wants to join the wow team again. Those tweets are love tweets.
He said in his last slew of tweets he has "no desire to return to WoW dev, he enjoys riot" or something a long those lines.
