They should have made it float high up in the air because it looks like its build on ground-level. Impressive nonetheless.
What's that octagon at the right side on the final picture?
OP here. I was quite surprised to see a post about it on wowhead. Ill try to kinda comment on some of the replies here. While its definitly not news, its nice of Wowhead to put some spotlights on some community creations during this content drought. Seeing the Minecraft Atal'Dazar on here is one of the things that convinced me to make a post about my work. While I have worked on this since 2016, its been very off and on work because of college, burnout, and simply playing other games. And, since this is all survival, alot of the time is spent gathering resources and fixing tools. I considered waiting till it was done to post it, but I'm just not that into Minecraft right now so its only gaining slow progress and might never fully get done. I thought now is as good a time as ever to post it. I built it on the ground for a few reasons. Minecraft has an upper limit to how high you can build, so if I built it high off the ground, some of the towers might be cut short. Im more interested in building the buildings and spires than the big block of stone their sitting on. And I am considering expanding the city beyond what it is in game once the main part is done. For me, this seemed like a good time to post it. At this point, I had just finished putting up the last tower completing the main structure of the city. As for the statues, yeah, I haven't even tried building them yet. They might easily be the toughest part to get right in the whole build. But anyways, If you have any questions, feel free to post them here or on the reddit thread. I love talking about my work! There is also a world download in the original post if you wanna check it out.
Aw man I wanted to do this a long time ago in creative, but never got around to doing it. Huge kudos to this person, it looks really good, better than I could do even in creative XD
