Would have way better if they made a mini series with a group of adventurers that clear a Dungeon or even a Raid. Non players just understood nothing in that movie
I am glad that movie failed, they changed the lore so much it does not make old fans happy enough and new fans are confused because there is so much unexplained details happening. If you want to make a movie based on the warcraft universe, it should involve a simple questline at best, there are too many details to be dumbed down to a movie.Tauren meeting Thrall on the Eastern Kingdoms wtf
Movies based on games are usually... Not very good. Warcraft wasn`t an exception. It had beautiful landscapes, when the story was terrible. I don`t know why so many retcons were necessary, but now... Throwing away all Second War? Shrinking all plot of WC3 to the story of Thrall? Taurens from Eastern Kingdoms? Sound even worse. I don`t have anything agaist Thrall, but there are many other good stories before beginning of WoW and he shoudn`t change them in this rude way or even throw it away. Becoming of Lich King isn`t less dramatic, defence of Hyjal would be really epic, and hunting for Illidan can be a cool action movie...
All of you--this thread and others like it--are the reason we will never have a Warcraft sequel feature film.Have a wonderful day (figure it out).
With cinematograph losing it's popularity they really should consider the option of making Warcraft series on Netflix or somewhere else. Just don't make Jaina black or some other travesty
Please let Duncan do a movie with Arthas. PLEASE
Orc needs home.Orc go to new land.Humans are orc fight b/c of Guldan, bad orc, leading the orcs. After sacrifices, 'stalemate'Very hard to follow. Speaks of how dumb people are. HAHAHA
Personally, I enjoyed the movie for what it was ... a fantasy movie... I enjoyed some of the subtle hints and easter eggs that were put into it for us WoW fans specifically. I never played the original Warcraft games (Never even owned a computer until about 2000/2001, and I wasn't into PC gaming at the time) ... I would have liked to see a sequel, but I also agree that the Warcraft Universe would be better explored through a mini-series. I'd love to see the Cinematic team make a mini-series. What I would hate is for HBO to pick it up and throw in unnecessary sex scenes and make it all dark and dreary .... that's why I never got into GoT. In fact, I kind of hate the way a lot of action/drama series are so freaking dark these days. At any rate, I would love to see Warcraft and WoW get explored more through film in one way or another, as long as it's entertaining.
I would absolutely love to have the rest of the movies come out.-I don't care if it does good on profit or in cinema, it would be an investment for the long run. Not a loss.
I loved the idea of a Warcraft film but it needed to be spread out more. The first film jumped around too much and the humans looked awful next to the CGI orcs.Slow down the story, pick the best story elements (War of the Ancients, Second War, Thrall's story, Arthas' story, etc), and go from there with the Blizzard CGI department.
The movie was a total mess... hopefully, if they ever revisit it, they do it with a different creative team.
Warcraft isn't my favorite movie ever, but I don't regret watching it either. It doesn't necessarily have to follow the so-called 'source material' exactly, does it? Even Blizzard retcons lore all the time, and Draenor as a whole was written into an 'alternate timeline' so that they didn't have to worry too much about plotholes. Of course it's their IP, they can do what they want with it pretty much, but I don't think it's unreasonable to allow someone under license to have creative freedom as well. I don't think the movie was ever intended to tie in with the games anyway, was it?
Judging by the state society has devolved into pertaining to real-world political agenda's in video games, movies and TV- it's probably for the best that the rest of the films aren't likely to be made. What brings everyone together would once again be gutted and filled with divisive hate towards fellow human beings who just want to escape the world and have a good time for a few hours with friends and family. They were good times while they lasted.
I liked the movie well enough. The official lore and story from the games is better. But I have bewn hoping for more movies. I'll take whatever form they give us, live action w/cgi or a completely aninated film, using Blizzard's realsim animation. I don't care so long as it's good.
I'm glad they didn't go through with this storyline. I don't see why movie adaptations always feel they need to drastically differ from the source material.
