Let's keep in mind that while net ease is awful, the real enemy of the players is the chinese government and it's censorship of video games and western culture as a whole.. Had blizzard been able to exert more control over their own game in china, without the need for an awful chinese partner (net ease is very much a shill for the chinese government, as is required for any chinese tech company to exist there) none of this would be happening. Chinese citizens must continue advocating for democracy and regime change in china, as they have for centuries. Once that happens, even minor things, like video game development and oversight, will improve alongside the huge societal issues.
This is terrible. I can't even imagine playing the game like that. They obviously need our help.I am posting here just to spread awareness, hoping that can help a bit. Also, can they even access wowhead in China?
I stopped playing 7 weeks ago as I looked for "+16" in the LFG Tool in German EU and 27 from 34 groups were sellers :)You only can use trade chat with automatically filter add-ons. Otherwise you get boost (in-game and realmoney) spam every second. EU-Antonidas
ive a strong feeling china will censor the african american customizations that are being added in shadowlands. can any china alpha acess ppl confirm?
It's not a full reddit post, but already respect for making a post here. It was blocked on reddit. Anyway, nothing of this goes against ToS. MMO games are about society and people inside it, and Chinese have a specific reputation in mmo's.

Why there is still no "anti-farm" system in WOW? More mob kills must cause less loot (up to "no loot").
Solution suggestions: 1) Make a New Tab under Premade Group called WTS/WTB where you have to pick M+ / a Raid / a dungeon / pvp / whatever else there isSo that all ppl who wanna sell, can post there - and the people who wanna buy go there aswell.2) Put a ban to post in all other Premade group channels per account if you get reported for trying to sell services. (So no lvl 1s can be used anymore on repeat)This should separate the legit players who wanna enjoy the game from the boosters/boostiees3) If a problem is that areas are overpopulated with ppl spam-farming things then the area should have more sharding. If 2 raids of 40 ppl farm in an area any single player or a group of 5 should be phased to a new shard. 4) Remove the ability to kick players from a Scenario like Battle for DArk/Arathi when the third to last objective has been met. (So before "crash the wall"/"kill the ships").Think this solves most of the single or small group issues for legit players. I dont know how to solve or if its possible to solve the community issue where ppl are selling basically everything - but separating the two so they can co-exist is a way.
This is the bed the Chinese players chose to lie in.Chinese Game audiences encourage cheating and exploits because they're not seen culturally as bad and they also encourage flounting paid ingame services as a form of pride. If the chinese market were not a bunch of whales and paypigs, they wouldn't have this issue. This goes for the whole Asian MMO market.
Blizzard's lawyers might need a refresher course. The current WFOE law in China has changed on March 15, 2019 and came into effect on January 1, 2020https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foreign_Investment_Law_of_the_People%27s_Republic_of_ChinaThe law is changed fairly often and since around 2018 it is no longer mandatory to use a fully separate local company as a front... but if Blizzard only asks their already existing local representative.. of course they will get an answer that it's necessary to have a separate local company representing them.(hint: "necessary" = not really mandatory under the new WFOE law, but it's necessary for their paychecks)
Looks horrible. I know some people complain that US / EU servers have a bunch of advertisements in the LFG tool, but I've still never had any trouble finding a group if I need one. I can't imagine playing in the environment the Chinese are having to.
