Poor design. Summed up the entire fight in 2 words.
According to Limit, if they played optimally before the reset, the best they would reach is 30%. I don't know how finely tuned this boss is, but when a WF guild says the best they can do is 30% when they play their absolute best, you know this fight is going to be some monster.
What's happened is that the artificial complexity of fight design that's been infecting the raid designs for a while now, in attempts to keep ahead of the add on arms race, has finally reached critical mass and is making mythic just too complex for its own good. Mythic Azshara was being nerfed and hotfixed on the hour because of how much out of hand fight design is getting; it's no shock N'zoth is a brick wall. Until Ion and company remember how to make fight design organic again, this is just going to keep happening.
Missed one thingOn mythic the duration of debuff on psychus is 15 seconds, not 30. In addition, if it ever falls off, it's an instant wipe. So you need constant high damage and movement at all times in that phase to maintain the buff from beginning to end with 0 room for failure.
still suprised they haven't removed the ability to immune thought harvesters.
TLDR: Its bugged as hell.
Boss Is Easy: people complainBoss Is Hard: people complain
OH NOES! The final hardest boss might not die the first week of mythic unlock! ITS TEH END OF THE WORLD/s
RemovedI remember the Sunwell days when people actually liked the raid to kick the shingles out of you, and didn't complain when the last boss of an entire explansion resisted takedown for more than a week. I mean, that's probably what mythic was created for, yeah ? All of us lowly plebs get to enjoy raiding with a bit of challenge though heroic, and the best of the best get to have their own challenge to go through.Yet we have people complaining about it being too hard ! Players too used to being spoonfed rewards all over the game, becoming spoiled like children (well I guess some are actual children).
I think the main point is that cutting-edge mythic raiders actually like a very, very difficult boss, and are generally disappointed in undertuned fights. They get frustrated when their progress is stalled by bugs, but I really don't think anyone in Method, Limit, Pieces and the other competitiors, expected the fight to end during the first reset.
This fight looks like a joke compared to Kil'jaeden. Of course they'll not get it week 1, but in the next, they get all bosses to farm again and be better geared for the encounter.
I find it interesting when even those nutters don't know what's going to happen next, myself. Thanks for the write-up.
I hope it takes a week...it should be tough. Why don’t they hire like the #20 top team from the last raid tier to play test the hell out of the newest fights in beta and make them sign confidentiality agreements and they can’t compete in any competitions?
Why does mythic raiding need to be so utterly complex? Can't it be a little less complex so that non-paid raiders can actually complete this content near the end of the patch?Raiding can be hard without having this many mechanics...
It looks to me like this time the hosted race to WF events will end way before there is any realistic shot an N'Zoth, not to mention fight is harder after the add hotfix.
