How to Obtain

Complete the quest Eine merkwürdige Entdeckung / Eine merkwürdige Entdeckung. This can be found at any of the waypoints listed below, in front of each Gefräßiger Schleim. After completing this quest, you will receive one Kristallprisma, and you will now be able to pick up Kristallprisma, which are objects located throughout the zone.

Now, you feed the Gefräßiger Schleim. You can feed all four at the same time. You do this by charming a critter (not battle pet) using Kristallprisma, and bringing it back to a Gefräßiger Schleim. Run the critter across it, and if it is successful, you will see a green "Zzzz" and the slime will disappear until tomorrow. You have an hour to do this from charming the critter. The critter cannot be a water bound one (the fish critters).

Do this for five days total and the Slimy Cocoon will hatch into one of the battle pets. If done at the same time, you will get four battle pets on day 5. It is random as to which one it is, and does not depend on what you feed the Gefräßiger Schleim.

Extra Information

Kristallprisma are mostly found near waterfalls and rivers. They look like the purple crystals from the Long Forgotten Hippogryph event, and are quite noticeable. I found the easiest way to farm them was to run down the river in the center of Nazjatar, checking all waterfalls.

The pets are all cageable, and you can buy or sell them on the Auction House. You can get the achievement Schleimerei from buying off the Auction House.

You can do this on multiple characters at once.

Feeding the Gefräßiger Schleim resets on daily quest reset, and you can only turn the four Gefräßiger Schleim into Slimy Cocoons once a week. They will come back after the weekly reset.

Its ok to skip a day! I skipped two days in a row, and fed the slimes after and they still hatched.

You don't have to feed all four at the same time.

Don't take a flightpath with your little critter, you'll lose it. Flying on your mount is ok.

Handliche Kleintierkanone can be used to spawn critters to feed the Gefräßiger Schleim.

You can receive duplicate pets.

Anyways, used Critter Hand Cannon, charmed a rabbit, moved to slime, rabbit disappeared and no 'zzz' from slime. Second attempt charming a nearby critter worked fine.

Also had an issue with the slime in western zone (near the Horde FP at Ashen Strand) where a WQ was up (kill some commander), charmed a nearby critter and as I approached the slime, it disappeared (I had already completed the WQ, but right as I entered the WQ area, the critter disappeared).Kommentar von reidsbI have on occasion had the cocoon not show up immediately, but I have found waiting a minute or so, then it spawns in. I suspect lag issues.Kommentar von FhinaCritter hand canon tip wasted my crystal. Do NOT advise using the toy to facilitate feeding the slime. Picked a summoned crittter, it turned green, but it continued to run erratically around. It never got close enough to the Ravenous Slime to do anything. :(Kommentar von KissxMintI started feeding slime on my alt and I thought today is the 5th. It is a Tuesday and two of the slimes just went to sleep. So my thought is the weekly reset and I just have to start over. I fed next slime and flew away to the next one. While checking the map, I saw the previous spot was changed to an egg shape. I went back nothing there. But after relog, I can see a cocoon.
