This driver gave me huge performance gains in most of my games, especially Battlefield 5, but I'm not sure how much this will benefit higher end cards on a game like WoW that was already easy to run. I'm assuming most people who would be happy to see performance improvements also aren't on DX12...Good news nonetheless!
For once I am glad I gave in and got a new box complete with Win10. I have to note that post-launch, I saw game performance eroded steadily from hotfix to hotfix... but I have to add that while it was smooth sailing for me, everyone else kept complaining. And while Blizz is loathe to admit it, putting wow on a big fast SSD is a gamechanger really... and even with that, there are places that take notable time to load. I am also rather happy I chose to stick to slightly older 750TI instead of its overclocked cousin 1050TI. Had zero issues. Also, it was high time, it's feels silly to sit on quad-core and watch one loaded and three idle :)
I updated to the driver version 417.01, which is the one a week or two behind the Dec 3rd one and it was like seeing a whole new game. Seriously, it was like WoW in HD. Everything was so crisp, colors were beautiful, depth and view was amazing. Unbelievable. Like a whole new game. Then I updated to that Dec 3rd version and it went back to everything being dull and i don't know how to describe it but blacks weren't deep black, more grey like a filter was over everything. So I downgraded back to 417.01 driver and everything is beautiful again. I'm very hesitant to upgrade it again.Settings are all on max and using directx12
Do we still add these lines to our config.wtf after switching to DX12 in game? Or are they the default now.SET gxMTPrepass "1"SET gxMTOpaque "1"SET gxMTDisable "0"SET gxMTBeginDraw "1"SET gxMTShadow "1"
Windows 7 goes EOL next year. Drop the OS already.
