Huzzah, back to underwhelming mediocre 'intern designed this' non-Artifact weapon models!
Already existing models anyone?Maybe island expeditions aren't bringing any new models after all... :'(
I guess the thing I'm worried about, seeing these weapon models, is that we're returning to spikes-everywhere design a la WOD? And otherwise troll/Zandalari stuff, of course. I actually like the rugged armor this type of theme gets down, but weapons... Eh... They're just so chunky and spiky and too niche?
Why do the blades have to be so jacked up all the time? Why can't we just get a nice broad sword with an absolutely amazing hilt?
These models are unused recolors and unused models from previous expansions, just like the Salvaged Gear from Garrison boxes, they're just finding a way to get some of the older unused art and recolors in game which is fine. I imagine these will come from Island expeditions with a name like 'Plundered', I wouldn't take these as an example of 'new' art.
Man we're gonna miss artifact weapons :(
Since they're adding the Vrykul/Valarjar head and shoulders (pun intended) they should give us the shields shieldmaidens have been carrying around the broken isles that we couldn't get in Legion.
Nice! They added the Jinyu staff which only existed as a spell!
Can we please have some glowy bows? There are so many glowy swords, axes and bladed weapons, we hunters like glowy stuff too!
World of Warcraft the Return of even more Recolors
Oh good, back to having weapons that are covered in random bones and spikes.Ughhh
Am I alone in liking some of these recolors more than the original versions? Also, that purified version of Jin'ya, Orb of the Waterspeaker looks awesome
Meh.
If they're using old weapon models, I wish they'd use some that were npc only before, or even unused models. The uncorrupted MoP staff is the only one like that. There's scores of models they could use, of varying levels of flashiness, that would be entirely new for players, that wouldn't take new artist hours to make.
Just can't dang please everyone I see, must be thrilling to be alive each day and put on the same pairs of clothes as well.
First Vrykul helms, now shouldersWe are steadily getting there
Looks dope.
First people didn't want to all have the same weapon with artifacts, now we get a look at a few new weapon models and people whine about how they don't like them. And they act as if this is definitely known to be the sum total of weapons added to the game. And it's not like we don't still have transmog.
