Goooood thing this is account-wide! I finished Insurrection with my nelf DH ages ago and while I enjoyed the story immensely, I'll not be doing it again.
It seems appropriate that the player has to play through an allied race's expansion storyline to be able to play said race. This is how you get to now the race instead of those first 20 levels with their own storyline, the trade off for the two starting zones where you would learn and understand the race. The narrative difference is that you experience this from the outside with the allied races.I like this trade off, and I'd love to see the introductory storylines that the future will bring, I'm still wondering how Dark Iron Drarves are gonna work in Kul'tiras.Yet still if we look at it this way, is a wash with the void elves. At best and very charitably, Argus storyline is about only Alleria, not the void elves. At best, you learn the backstory of wielding the void and how that's tangentially related to the void elves. If they had planned for the void elves already (patch 7.3 already came with some VE icons and weapon models) why didn't they make the effort of tying the void elves with the Argus narrative? The storyline wouldn't have looked much different if Alleria already had had a group of followers/elves who become interested on the void (be it some Silver Covenant troops lent by Vereesa, or some of Aethas' Sunreavers, or perhaps even more daring, a mix of the two having to work together to support Alleria on her mission)Anything that would have better set up the void elves within the narrative.
Insurrection alone is easier to get than Good Suramaritan. Good move.
Such a relief when these kinds of changes don't affect you cuz you already had the addition complete anyways :D
There's no guarantee players will be able to get the Argussian Reach emissaries in BfA. It's possible once a character hits level 111 they will be locked out of Legion emissaries. Can you imagine how awful the grind to exalted will be then with just world quests? There is no quest line that gives a big chuck of AR rep. Sure, the grind is doable now before 8.0, but new players and returning players should still be considered.
got that covered
Damn it i change my main and dont have this in my new one cause i already got the mount on my old main , and i did not play argus in my old main đŸ˜‘
Has anyone confirmed if unlocking on your main Ally toon, will open it up for your alts, including Horde ? Or if not, what's the plan ?
We all already have it who cares.
Toxic comments everywhere.
Relax ,mon , I bet dis be requirement for da pre-ordah not da BoA expansion.
Pleasantly surprised at the lack of raging here, at least.Personally, I understand it'll be annoying for new or returning players, but just doing the story quests and hitting exalted for a race makes sense to me. At least it's WAY better than Pathfinder, which they also don't nerf, especially WoD's, with its awful rep grinds. The Legion rep grinds are much nicer, even if the Argus ones are a bit long due to the focus on Emissaries. But then, you can get a few thousand rep a week just from the Mission Table if you get your champions up to 900+, which isn't hard at all these days, so you can probably finish the rep grind in a few weeks. It's just probably not as fast as Highmountain and Nightfallen getting fairly close to exalted through the story quests, and in that sense I can understand the annoyance. But still, it's not THAT big a barrier for a new race system, IMO. A lot of people are annoyed that you'll have to "go back and do old content" to unlock the new races, but it just makes lore sense, and we have to do that for some things anyway - certain class champions, the ability to fly in those older zones, professions, leveling, etc.I do think, though, that if they are gonna release the first four Allied Races pre-BfA they shouldn't be a pre-order thing; since they are Legion lore races unlocked technically within Legion through Legion content and Legion rep grinds, they should just be Legion allied races, and a preview for the new system coming in BfA. It'd increase the number of people leveling alts in the new system, too.
