I'm so happy they're squishing the stats. The HP was getting ridiculous on tanks. I liked when HP was in the 100k's personally, but I'll take 10k's any day over the current HP.
its a good idea for a stat squish, also I would like to see the player level only go up to 115, its too much to level up for the newbies to the game to enjoy, w/o them paying for a boost!
This is defenitely a good change, everyone i know wanted this. I'm very happy with it!
Smaller numbers are better, even the inflation from broken shore -> argus is absolutely crazy.
i don't mind either way. both stats have there advantages and disadvantages. take raiding for example, with the big numbers you can easily see if someone is under performing but with the lower numbers you might miss it cause say 500 dps difference doesn't look alot but 500k dps does. but with the lower numbers it makes it easier to visually look better. Also lets say 10ilvls would be a huge difference with lower numbers but not so much at say 950+
A shame they don't just stat squish EVERY xpac.It would resolve so many little issues.
think the stat squish will be a good thing. i dont like to se to big numbers and even if i got 10ilvl uppgrade now it may give me a boost in my attacks from 1m to 1,1m and thats like ehh so what but a hit from 2,9k to 3,1 was like woooooow!
"The characters available for the Demo had 185 ilvl, which equated to around 16k health" So, does that mean my leveling progression from 1-110 I'll gain roughly one whole item level per character level while leveling new allied races? You'll put on 3 new pieces of gear and gain.. 5hp and 1 item level. On the other hand I'm sure the damage will still scale and it won't feel weak.. but I think it'll definitely take some readjustment. Not bashing by any means I always like a good squish... Just playing devils advocate.
oh thats better , i wish they fix millions of hps and millions of manas , damagesits a bit meaningless
Item level served as a pillar for long-time players to tie their memories of content to. I loved MoP Challenge Modes, so I remember 463 fondly. Some of my best experiences with serious raiding was in Firelands, so 391 means a lot to me. Legion end-game legendaries hit 1000, which is a huge milestone. Changing these is simply destroying history. They could easily "freeze" these and start over on item level, like they froze old set bonuses. A level ~400 item in BFA wouldn't have to use the same stat allocation as an original ~400 item from Dragon Soul. There's no reason it would need to follow the same "laws" with this refresh. Preserve the past before moving forward, this is just reckless.
I'd love for WoW to be "re-engineered" in order to give it a slower, closed vertical growth, and add a horizontal growth to fit the increasing expansions. An enemy that is more powerful than your level is fine, your characters achieving "demi-god" status while still finding monsters that are more powerful... Less so.It ends up being the DB Paradigm, where all the time the main cast is fighting the "most powerful being", until they defeat him, only to find the "next more powerful being"...
I would love a stat squish, I think it would mean more when you earn a new item with +1 or similar to stats, rather than +thousands
I like stat squish over more ilvl. It makes the content feel more alive and make previous content more difficult to do. In Legion, you can just step into older expansions content and pretty much one shot it. It does not make much sense to have content be that easy, I think all content should be relatively difficult or at least be somewhat of a challenge to the player regardless if being max level. I believe the game developers could work on making older content more fun even at max level somehow someway. They got programming skills, maybe they could design a way to make old content more difficult at max level. For example appending some modifier (debuff) to players above certain limit of each expansion relative to their own level. Here's a scenario below describing what I mean.A Orc Shaman Beast Mastery Hunter walks into Black Temple at level 120.The modifier or debuff is applied to the player. What it does is decreases your offensive stats by X amount in percentage. Offensive stats being agility, intellect, strength, attack power, spell power, mastery, versatility and crit. The Orc Shaman activates the berserking racial and pops big cooldowns and attacks the first boss with ranged attacks and all adds around it. This right now in Legion, basically kills all the the things. If you had this modifier or debuff on at around like level 100 to 120. It would make sense from a player stand point because the content will still be doable but more challenging to do and make the content still valuable in a sense.I'd suggest a appropriate percentage based on the expansions content. Not making it impossible at max level but still making the content feel worth while. It would make content feel exciting to do.Right now in Legion, one shotting old expansions raids does not really feel fun at max level. It kind of defeats the purpose of the raid and makes it feels more like a low dungeon more than anything. It would be interesting to see Blizzard design a way to make old expansions content still fun to do and meaningful to do even at max level. To make things way too easy to farm is not fun in the long run and makes the items coming from the raids lose value overall and the auction house and the economy comes into play also where the items right now are worth maybe 1 silver each because players are farming Black Temple for example and selling items at the lowest price possible because way too many players are doing the same thing. Why that is, is because it's so easy to do and there's no challenge in obtaining the items. Therefor making the items worthless and that is kind of a problem in the long run as it continues into coming expansions this problem will arrise but my suggestion is a good example of a way to counter this and make old expansions content a bit more fun to do and might solve realms economic problems, if at least a little. I'd say my suggestion could be a step in the right direction if properly applied and with thought put into it I am sure Blizzard could work on this and make changes if need be. This would be a positive change to the game and making the content feel more relevant even at max level.
Yes! We love great, big stat massive nerf along with stat squish way back to old classic!Instead of getting 20M health for players, they will have around average of 7,500 health.Instead of inflicting 200k damage as players do, they will deal an average of 2,500 damage they inflict.Battle For Azeroth is meant for massive balance patch and change!Relive the golden days of pre-Alpha and Vanilla days!Think of Dragon Quest, AQW and EpicDuel where numbers are small.Every content
At least Blizzard will nerf and squish the stat, items and gameplays to maintain old classic vanilla value in future expansions. Just the way AQW has small numbers.I mean it.
