So i guess we are getting new world to explore and probably old content rework like with cataclysm...but not pandaria.....seems like they really want to forget that
I'm sure the void & Kul-Tiras theories for the next expansion are correct, and I bet now that we're strong enough to fight a Titan, we'll finally get our showdown with Azshara. What I'm curious about is Sylvanas, and I don't expect we'll really get her whole story this coming expansion. I expect Alliance instability, and not much plot having to do with the Horde leadership in general.Looking at the cosmology chart, I feel like we haven't really seen much in the "undead" section. Obviously there's the Lich King, but he's a creation of the Burning Legion built to use the power of undead. He's not of the undead any more than a warlock is a demon. If the chart is any indication, there should be an undead force on the level of the Naaru/Titans and the Old Gods/Void Lords. I don't think we've seen anything like it yet, and I'd bet Sylvanas and Bolvar are already involved with it.It would be super entertaining to see our constant resurrections as players turned into a plot point. An NPC in the Paladin order hall says to his buddy, something like, "I heard the Highlord has come back from the dead!" It's not something normal people do!If we get a new race, I'd assume either Ethereals or something entirely new. I do like the idea of a new class like whatever the hell Alleria is now, but if I'm right about the undead, necromancer is a possibility too.
And yeah, as some other commenters have indicated, if they don't find some way to rework 1-60 leveling I will be shocked.
With the blizzcon mounts being faction airships, and the unfinished Greymane and Sylvanas storyline, I thing the expansion will start off with major faction war. Controlling the power leaking in Silithus, retaking Gilneas, maybe even a Horde assault on Kul Tiras. And then it will pull a MoP style twist and we start discovering the void influence leaking everywhere.
The Old Gods are going to wake up. We are probably going to have an underworld/undersea expansion next.
For the next expansion I'm hoping the Windrunner sisters to be very prominent. I think there will be a pretty cool dynamic between Alleria and Sylvanas. I'm expecting Alleria to be mortified that Sylvanas is a banshee, but her own involvement with the void isn't much different. On top of that, I'm expecting much more drama between the factions. In WoD it didn't feel like there was anything outside of Ashran which wasn't really a story centric location and in Legion they've set up some strong possible storylines for the factions but didn't follow through at all.I'm also curious to what will happen to artifact weapons story wise. A lot of weapons (imo) are cool but aren't objectively stronger than another possible weapon. And something like the Doomhammer you can tie up pretty neatly by saying Thrall regains his connections with the elements. But who is going to take the Ashbringer? Anyone who has ever wielded it is dead. All the different stories behind the Artifacts I think was some of the strongest storytelling in the expansion and I fear that the way they will leave player's hands will be disappointing.
Jaina for sure will have a major role in the next xpac. I think she may fight for the throne, since she doesn't want to be allied with the Horde and may consider the king weak. The old gods being the bosses... well, that fits the lore. However, what about the xpac after the next one? What will it be about? The big badasses are falling, and no new faces are showing up...Well, next xpac will be interesting! I'm betting on new dimensions as well.
Pretty sure when we get to Kul'Tiras we will set in motion some big nasty "breaking free" after the first raid is over with. That the battle was there so that when we defeat whoever is the first raid boss (or the first raid tier) to awaken the threat. They can even tie in old dungeons to be revamped (like Blackfathom Depths and Zul'Farrak to even further the connection.Whatever it will be, we will take it down as well in time. :)
I'm still holding out that we'll finally get that south seas expac, with Kul Tiras, and FINALLY getting to face Azshara. I mean, she's gotta be pretty upset we locked up her crush Sargeras :P The void seems pretty likely too but they might also choose to push it back so we're not burning through the new enemies/plot so quickly. All I really want though, and am really holding out hope for, is that regardless of future story content, that next expac will finally give us updated worgen models...
I think they might take us to their version of the under dark. Alien invasion is possible I guess.
Kul'tiras will be the next place to go for the Alliance, while Jaina prepares an army against the Horde. Then N'zoth appears and forces Horde and Alliance to team-up once again.
I would expect a void theme along with the old gods.Voidlord jaina would be awesome too :D
I believe that the horde and the alliance will fight over the power in silithus which will result in it somehow exploding or something like that (prolly sylvanas fault). In the process, it will be azeroths third death and will free the old gods. N zoth will prolly be in or near kul tiras which is where we'll prolly end up going. Also Brightwing will destroy the world
Kul'tiras returns to the fold and becomes the hard-asses of the Alliance, with Jaina as their leader, foolishly charging to war with the horde even as greater threats slither forth. Sylvanas is more than happy to oblige. The Zandalari will return, led by mysterious whispers from their "loa". A full fledged Naga invasion begins, paving the way for N'zoth and his minions.N'zoth is making his move for Azeroth's world-soul. Events with the Legion and Sargeras have given him the opportunity he's been waiting for.Turalyon and Alleria come back with us to face the darkness. Anduin and Sylvanas get alot of screen time. The Goblins and Gallywix himself will take center stage for a while.
We don't know why Azshara wanted the Tidestone of Golganneth in Azsuna. It doesn't seem that she's working with the Legion however. She may have her own plans. Since we already know that the Old Gods are ploting something, my theory is that they will eventually strike once the Legion is gone. N'zoth and Azshara would be the main antagonists, IMO. My personnal dream is that this expansion could allow us to play a naga. Some naga joined the Legion, despite the fact that their cursed is due to the Old Gods, but some naga also joined Illidan in his campaign against the Legion to save Azeroth. I think that a dissident faction of nagas against their former queen and the Old Gods would be damn cool. I'm expecting a south seas expansion around Kul'Tiras (with Jaina !), Zandalar, etc.At this point, I think we need to finally face Azshara and deal with the "last" Old God alive before thinking about the Void Lords themselves.
My guess is the story will be some sort of Cata 2.0, in that the world will change some how while we are gone. if nothing more than to once again catch the world up with a current story arc, and to lay the foundation for now stories to tell. I think the Nightfallen will be a playable race for both factions, and I think that all those planets that we see in the invasions will somehow be woven into the story. I do not know how, or why, but it seems silly that they would introduce some mew lands (admittedly there was no lore behind them, other than just showing there are other planets out there with life). I also do not think that Jaina, or Sylvanis will be a bag bad, because for the most part no one has really expected the last few expansions we have had, and the south seas expansion with Sylvanas, and Jaina would be to easy to guess. oh and I think Nightelves will get to be pallys due to the order hall story when we acquire 2 of them as followers.
Obviously the void is coming, but I see all out war over Azeroth.
I'm pritty sure blizzard are going for old gods/naga story. 2nd tier raid will be with Queen Azshara as end boss and endgame raid will be N'zoth. No idea what's gonna be left from the old lore after that tho, they've used all the good lore.....
All the fighting will leave everyone weakened, sensing weakness the "void" moves in. Sargeras' says I told you so, you should have listened to me and succumbed to the Burning Legion. Everyone has to channel/destroy use the power of their artifacts to barely hold back the void and stop the total destruction of Azeroth. Now we have a new never ending enemy and we get some face or character to connect with to be our enemy. Maybe Alleria makes a grave mistake and turns evil or gets used for evil.
I want to see a full Post-Apoc style expansion. Cataclysm was supposed to break the world, but it really didn't. Most things stayed intact. Lets destroy EVERYTHING. Most faction cities obliterated. Newer, less secure safe havens, with included systems that make us the city builders and leaders. Maybe our time on Argus was a huge time skip to Azeroth and we return to this totally destroyed world and it's up to us to rebuild it.
