Really liking the way how rares will work in Draenor, the Pandaria design was quite tedious.
FOR THE WOW =D
Good interview's, especially the one with Jeremy Feasel, it's really nice to hear a good question and also a good answer to that or a different answer (from what you used to know), it makes you understand things better... like why is it a thing like that, etc.Good job :)
Wod will be the best xpac ever! cant wait till the 13th :)
Really glad to see the question regarding the dailies. It seems like early on in MoP there were so many factions each with a set of dailies, that the dailies never ended and they started feeling more like chores. But then TI was so small and crowded, plus the repetitive clockwork spawn rates...at first it was exciting, but quickly became dull. I'm excited to see that the devs recognize this and have put a lot of thought into what direction the daily system needs to go. It'll be interesting to see the implementation of this thought in the gameplay. Also, "collect 10 bear asses quest" - PRICELESS.
Glad goblins and especially worgen model updates aren't off the table. The goblins really just need some refining as the models themselves are already pretty awesome looking. But the worgen look way outdated now because they were so much more like the old models than the pandas. Would love to see the female worgen models from Alpha come back...the sheer beauty and sleekness made them seem more dangerous than the weird half-snarl. I'd like to see the male worgens slightly less hunched as well, maybe a little more reasonably proportionate (where the current male worgens seem...top-heavy - though that does explain the hunch....). Blood elves definitely need the update though.
I know the flying thing is highly contested, but I honestly have mixed feelings about it. I would like the opportunity to be more immersed in the world - when I was leveling my first toon (I came in at the end of cata/beginning of MoP), I marveled at the beauty of Ashenvale, and Teldrassil, and so many other places, but then after I got to BC content it felt like it was more about getting the quests done as quickly as possible. So I think it'll be fun for a while to go back to that sense of immersion. On the other side of that, I'm not okay with having mobs ALL OVER the damn roads (like Timeless Isle, Isle of Thunder and many other places in MoP especially) where I can't get anywhere without 20 mobs running behind me (or worse, running back from chasing someone else and deciding to hit me....). And there's always places like Deepholm, where I really felt that sense of immersion because, yes, there was flying, but the zone was laid out in a way that required exploration of vertical layers in addition to exploring at a ground level. Same with Vashjir, although that was swimming and not flying.TLDR: I'm reserving judgment. I think it would be great if done right, but also think that it'll be horrible if done like Timeless Isle and Isle of Thunder.
There are two daily quests in WOD.My guess is we get flying by 6.2, and I don't care about the "no plans" comment. They are taking a wait and see approach, which is the right one.Flying has its benefits, but it also wrecks the game to a degree. I like flying, but I also miss the danger and immersion of flying over everything. This a bit of a return to classic wow where you learn the flight paths and high tale it over stuff.
seems very interesting, but I think the fact that changing the designs of Worgen and Goblin is a shame because they could have the update (eg putting tails and can fight the Worgen in human form, also change the way they walk, etc.) I worry that you can enlarge without abuse of a faction of players respect each other, the citadel uch a good idea, but I worry about the possibility that people become dependent on it, despite that have lowered the number of orcs in Shadowmoon worries me the possibility that there are still too many of them, to the missions I think that instead of ojectius specific missions with different objectives and may put only one to be completed by end mission and way more varietybut in short, I think the changes they hope to continue to improve to improve this game still has a lot of potential
Alex brought up a great point about trying to avoid splitting the players on the servers up too much but having too many cool and interactive hubs. I love the design of it all, especially Ashran. It makes more sense to me now, knowing more details about what logic went behind their decisions to not use Karabor and Bladespire as main faction towns.
Why is everyone complaining about no flying? I think it's one of the best decisions they've ever made. I sincerely hope, that we won't be able to fly on Draenor until the next expansion comes out, or at the very least, the last major patch of WoD.ed.: oops... not everyone is complaining, it's just that all the comments I've read before writing this could be summed up with "Why can't I fly? I want to fly!"
The heirlooms change still doesn't make sense to me. Justice did not have a weekly cap so you could grind out all the heirlooms really fast if you wanted to. However, Argent Tournament and DMF are extremely gated content in comparison.I basically have all the heirlooms I need at this time, so I'm not going to complain too much, but the logic just doesn't make sense to me.Regarding flight, it's perfectly fine to design things to all be completable without flight. And it's fine that the general trend of leveling while grounded is generally accepted by the players. However, it makes no sense to completely remove a feature that players have become used to for years. We just have to keep complaining about it and get them to cave in.Definitely agree with others who have said these interviews were way better than the Blizzcon panels.
Going to be entirely honest with you, the interview with Alex was extremely unpleasant to watch. Not because of you guys (Perc and Oliva) but because of Alex. He seemed like being there was literally the last thing he wanted to be doing, and his entire persona and way of answering questions gave off this air like he just bluntly wanted to say "$%^& those people," to a majority of anyone asking a question about a concern they have. Bad attitude. He also took like 3 or 4 of your questions, spoke for minutes upon minutes, and then never actually answered the question, like the one about dailies. I dunno. He just doesn't seem like the guy I'd wanna play a video game with, and unfortunately he has a massive gravitational pull on most of the elements that make it into the game because of his rank in the company.
No plans to have flying? great, then I have no plans to ever set foot on Draenor. I am so over and done with no flying after the crap that was Isle of Thunder, Timeless Isle, and trying to level alts in MoP (I ended up using pet battles because going through the leveling again without a flying mount was too awful). I currently have a free week (been unsubbed for a while since the initial no flying at launch announcement killed all my enthusiasm) and it is making me sad because there are still some things I am having a lot of fun with - I am loving getting back into pet battles, the group finder is finally decent, and I am happy to have some bank space due to the toy box and not having a million awkward keybinds due to the ability pruning. But I just can't deal with the no flying. It's awful.
Why do I want to fly? it adds to my RPG fantasy immersion. my character has defeated many powerful enemies and tamed many magical flying creatures... yet... my character can't remember to fly? A mount with wings can't use them? I feel very disconnected and non-immersed when I can't fly, it feels very regressive and unnatural. I had a very hard time leveling in MoP because of this. I felt no sense at all of where areas in a zone were in relation to each other, I just felt trapped on the ground in a little box cut off from the rest of the world. When I went back to finish Loremaster at 90, I had a much better experience, but it took me a long time to find where to pick up the quest chains again because I had no idea of where I had been on the ground. I LOVE zooming into the air in a new zone, seeing all the new things, looping around a bridge, skimming a lake, flying down a waterfall... I just freaking LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE flight! Best thing ever added to this game. While the convenience of skipping unneeded mobs/content is a nice bonus, it's not the only reason I love flying - if Blizz added some alternative way of fast travel or skipping around to my pet battles, I'd still be saying "No, I still want flying."
