A good system that will work more smoothly than what we have now.
I think everyone who is freaking out is doing so because the raid lockout system launches with the class changes, possibly this Tuesday.
I may be missing something but here's my current scenario:I raid ICC 25 and ICC 10 almost every week, working on HM's as I suppose most people are nowadays. As it is with hardmodes, you don't always get each one down and at the moment, we are able to pick and choose which fights are in HM's are which aren't. I should add, these are pugs and so the group will change nightly/weekly.As an example, this week we were working on 10 HM's. We did Morrowgar, Deathwhisper, Lootship but with no DK, we ended up skipping Saurfang. Next we did Dreamwalker on HM and on and on. Can I deduce from this set up announced the following:The fact that I have done HM's with this group, would prevent me from being able to do HM's with any other group? So by flipping on a HM Lootship 25, suddenly I cannot go and do an ICC10 HM run with different people? How is this meant to be an improvement? While I appreciate this may work with Cata raids in which there will be no difference between 10 and 25 raids, there IS a difference with ICC and RS - there are gear and achievement differences. Will this force me to have to pick and choose between ICC10 HM and ICC25 HM? Perhaps only being able to do ICC10 one week and ICC25 the next?If I've missed something and have this completely wrong, I look forward to someone clarifying the impact on HM's for me :)
No. I was exactly correct for the examples quoted. You said "this week we're working on 10 hard-modes." No change, you're saved to a raid ID and can only keep going with the same group and any replacements you can find (and noted the replacement pool is larger, the so-called upside). You asked, "Will this force me to have to pick and choose between ICC10 HM and ICC25 HM?" And I said yes. I specifically stated that for two months, that's the drawback: you can't do 25 Lootship after you do 10-man hard-modes.
Just one thing I don't understand: Will the raid lockout IDs remain unique? If a 25man raid downs 11 bosses in ICC, would it be possible for every single member to pick up 24 new players to try the LK another day? Or is everybody getting the same, unique ID so that only 25 players can continue?
Only if the raid has already downed those bosses, if they skipped any of them you would still be able to do the ones they skipped. but like the man said if you don't want to miss out on being able to kill those bosses then you will be able to see that they are gone and just not join that particular raid.
