WoD Alpha: More Rare Spawns and Exploration, Solo Queueing for LFR, Blue Tweets, Hotfixes
10.06.2014 um 14:37
Our Warlords of Draenor coverage continues with details on rare spawns, a video on the Garrison
, how to solo-queue for LFR and Scenarios, and some blue tweets on the Alpha. If you're curious to see more of our Warlords coverage, we just put together
organizing all of our Warlords of Draenor articles!
Solo Queueing for LFR and Scenarios
On the Alpha, there are ways to queue for LFR, Scenarios, and Heroic Scenarios if you are above the intended level. On live, these instances have level requirements so once you'd level past the requirement, you had no way of going back--like Dragon Soul LFR.
Before Alpha was playable, it was previewed on Twitter by Blizzard that there was a solution in place for this. Now we can take a look for ourselves!
By the Lorewalkers,
lets you queue for regular scenarios,
for heroic scenarios, and
for Mists of Pandaria LFRs. You must be above 90 to queue this way.
Right outside the
Die Höhlen der Zeit
, you can queue up (along with your party members) for Dragon Soul LFR wings via
Frostfire Ridge Rare Spawns
After our blog earlier this week on
Warlords of Draenor rare spawns and chests
, we found a few more!
is frozen in an icecube. When you break him out, he yells "How me supposed to learn how to control da ice if you breaks me out of it! Me gonna smash you for dat!"
Scattered around Frostfire Ridge are
. Finding these unlocks different zone-wide buffs, which are selected at your Shamanstone in your Garrison. Some are in easy-to-find places like cities, while others are hidden off the northern coast. Here are some buffs you can get:
: You are in tune with the ice of the area. Your enemies are sometimes frozen by your presence.
: You are in tune with the fire of the area. A pillar of lava will sometimes burst forth beneath your enemies.
: You are infused with the spirit of the wolf, increasing your run speed by 30% outside of combat while in Frostfire Ridge.
: You will periodically transform into a mighty Frostfire Ogre, granting you 15% enhanced resistance to ill effects.
: You have a chance to gain the Buffeting Galefury, granting 100% chance of Multistrike and levitation.
: A Frost Wolf will sometimes assist champions of the Frostwolf clan.
has a crate of adorable Frostwolf pups--that he wants to eat! Presumably you'll kill
to save them, although he was level 100 so we didn't try.
Jumping up the snowy cliffs by the Ice Forge, you'll come across strange Goren pawprints in the snow. Follow them up the cliff and you'll find a cave with
in a chest--apparently raw turnips taste terrible.
The Envoy's Chest (
) contained the following eerie log referring to "the prophet Garrosh":
We have arrived at the Bloodmaul camp. Their chief Borgal refused to talk with me unless I promised to buy a few cartloads of slaves. The charge was of course way higher than I should have paid but I need their goodwill on this mission.
Borgal has agreed, at a ridiculous price, to have his slaves mine into the sites we have indicated and turn over to us anything that may be found.
Even though the prophet Garrosh says that an artifact lays buried under this mountain I question the wisdom of employing the Bloodmaul to find it. Orders are orders nonetheless...
Our digging results so far have resulted in just rocks and dirt. The ogres are starting to mumble about getting rid of us. Another pouch full of coins in Borgal's hand seemed to smooth things over.
Near a lava pool by Bladespire Fortress, clicking on a stone grants you
, which raises your profession skills.
The Time-Lost Tower gives you the
and you can loot several dead ogres for various items--
, etc. This area was graphically glitchy, but the tower was covered in an eerie yellow glow at certain angles.
You can recruit the cheerful ogre
to your Garrison, where he will sell you
. This lets you form a conga line with everyone in your Garrison!
on the first day of Alpha and he was nice enough to make a video for us showing how to get it!
After a few days of being relatively quiet and watching people play WoD Alpha, the blues are tweeting again:
On exploration and new outdoor content:
Warlords lava is meant to be deadly:
On testing talents at 92:
Borrowed Brew: Resolved an issue that could cause players to be unable to see Lorewalker Cho after consuming Mouthwatering Brew.
Resolved an issue where the Heart of the Valorous buff was not correctly persisting through death.
