"The favored companion of Zandalari Kings, these fierce beasts are mummified and buried with their masters, so they may carry them through the afterlife."
Here is King Dazar's Dungeon Journal:
Dazar gathers the power of wind in his blade and slashes, creating a tornado that moves to a player's location and then swirls around the area, inflicting 5000 Nature damage every 2 sec. for 1 min to any players hit, and knocking them back.
Dazar leaps at the targeted player, inflicting up to 18500 to 21500 Physical damage to all players. This damage is reduced the further players are from the targeted location.
A series of deadly melee strikes that deal increasing damage to their target.
Launches a spear that inflicts 11875 to 13125 Physical damage to any players it impacts.
When Dazar reaches 70% health, he will call for Reban to join the battle.
Jumps towards a targeted player and unleashes a series of gutripping attacks, inflicting 8325 to 9675 Physical to players in a cone with each attack.
When Dazar reaches 50% health, he will mount T'zala.
Inflicts 7400 to 8600 Shadow damage to all players and makes them run in fear for 2 sec.
All damage done to Dazar is redirected to T'zala.
While Dazar is a hostile enemy boss, his datamined broadcast text suggest he is sympathetic to the cause of the player and held against his will by Zul.
You could never take my crown!
My legend will outlast yours!
Dis is why I am king... and you are nothing.
Silence, prophet of lies!
I spent my life resisting your master, only for you to bind me to his will in death.
Dese intruders will die... but I need not listen to your prattling while I make it so.
You have broken Zul's hold! I serve dat swine no longer!
Crawl back to your master and see how he rewards failure!
You have freed me from a cruel fate, but Zul is merely a puppet in a larger plan.
Even now his master gathers power. Zul will not rest until all de world is in de blood god's grip.
For de sake of Zandalar... and for your kingdoms as well... you must stop him.
At the end of the Zuldazar questline, we learn that Zul is directly attacking Atal'Dazar, the resting place of kings. He wants to use a forbidden ritual to resurrect King Dazar, the first king of the Zandalari, to have him serve as the ruler for Zul's new empire. The quest
reveals that resurrecting
back in Mists of Pandaria was simply practice for this plan. To achieve his goal, he also
defeats the loa Rezan
and uses the fallen loa's power to fuel his ritual.
Followers, hear me.
When I journeyed to Pandaria, we attempted an ancient and forbidden ritual.
We awakened Lei-shen, the Thunder King of the mogu, who had been dead for many ages of this world.
In doing so, I learned the ancient ways to return an ancient king to life, and learned how to control them.
