Hey there, folks! You can probably guess that it’s been one hectic week. E3 just finished and almost the entire Fanbyte staff was in attendance — streaming, making videos, and writing up previews and interviews. That didn’t quite stop our sister site from putting together another Fanbyte Friday post, though. In fact, they have quite a lot of E3 goodies to peruse to your heart’s content. Let’s take a look!
10 Games That Must Be On the Turbografx-16 Mini
The Turbografx-16 is a console fondly remembered by some, but mostly forgotten by everyone else. That hasn’t stopped Konami of all companies from jumping on the “micro console” bandwagon, though. The company is putting together its very own Turbografx Mini — in the vein of the NES Classic. Seeing as most people don’t know the classic console’s lineup, however, Jordan Mallory put together a list of 10 games people should be excited to see on this new version (assuming they actually get added).
Dragon Quest Builders 2 Hands-On Preview
Who would have thought that an old school JRPG like Dragon Quest would blend together so well with a building game formula straight out of Minecraft? Against all odds, Dragon Quest Builders was a surprise success back in 2015. Now Dragon Quest Builders 2 is refining that special blend even further. You can learn about how in Fanbyte’s hands-on preview of the sequel straight from E3 2019.
Why Were Anime Dub Openings So Weird?
Look... Anime can be pretty strange right from the get-go. Oftentimes, that’s a big part of the charm! Who doesn’t like some melodrama and strange stories you can’t find anywhere else? But sometimes anime gets weird after the fact — when folks feel the need to adjust it for different audiences. Fanbyte specifically investigates how this phenomenon affected anime openings, or OPs, once they were translated into English.
7 Things That Happened in the WWE This Week
The WWE: you love it, hate it, or love to hate it. Whatever the case, you should absolutely read Fanbyte’s WWE recaps by lb hunktears. They’re not just informative! They’re also deeply entertaining in their own right.
Fanbyte Coverage of E3 2019
Maybe you’re not into the whole curated list thing. Maybe you’d rather check out all of the E3 2019 coverage on Fanbyte for yourself and choose what you need! Well, here’s a handy link to all of the site’s coverage of the event so far (with still more to come).
Reactions to the Microsoft E3 2019 Press Briefing
Not all of the Fanbyte E3 coverage is in written form, either. The team also put together an ungodly amount of video coverage for your viewing pleasure. And why don’t we start off with their opinions on what Microsoft had to show. With the PlayStation brand not appearing at E3 2019, it was the Xbox’s chance to shine — or flicker out. How do our friends think the company handled things?
How Kingdom Hearts Reframed Darkness
Good versus evil plays a huge role in World of Warcraft. In fact, most Blizzard games feature friends and foes either becoming corrupted or turning back to the light. Said themes also feature heavily in Kingdom Hearts — which finally got its third main game earlier this year. As a result, one Fanbyte freelancer decided to dip into the series core struggle between light and darkness. Given that that debate has a much different meaning in Japanese philosophy than most Western media, some of these revelations may surprise you!
Anyway, thanks for sticking around for another Fanbyte Friday! We’ll be sure to have even more choice morsels of content from our sister site in the future. Until then, take care!
