Dragonwrath, Tarecgosa's Rest Legendary Staff Quest Guide
Latest datamining
of the 4.2 PTR has revealed quite a few new quests, including Hyjal daily quests and (most importantly) new quests related to the
Dragonwrath, Tarecgosa's Rest
questline! We've put together a guide to the quest chain (as it currently exists) detailing the challenge players will have to undertake in order to complete this truly legendary adventure! There aren't very many details on the sources for the various quest items that will drop in
Die Feuerlande
, though Blizzard has stated that the quests will be challenging for the entire guild involved (which is why they'll all get that cute
Klein Tarecgosa
)! It may be similar to creation of the
Schattengram
in that Heroic-difficulty kills will have a higher chance of dropping the required items, though it
shouldn't
require the guild to run 25-player content as before.
Not very many details have been revealed about the staff item itself, though Blizzard has confirmed that the stats and bonuses will favor offensive casters (DPS). They have also confirmed that the staff will feature the incredible effect of changing your character into a dragon. No details yet on how exactly

Children's Week (May 1 - 7) Guide, Including 4.1 Changes
It's been a while since a holiday has gotten a serious rehaul, but
Kinderwoche
starts this weekend and it's going to change that. This year the event features a redone quest chain for the initial leg of quests that take place in Azeroth, inviting you and your orphan to tour the changes Cataclysm has wrought. There are some clever additions to the questline as well, notably new ice creams that are served up specifically for the holiday at a mage run shop called
Cone of Cold
and dragon kites to fly with your orphan. Both the kites and the shop can be found in each faction's major capital city.
Additionally, there are two new rewards for those pet collectors:
Schneckenhaus
(reward for new Azeroth quest chain) and
Beinchen
(reward for old Outland quest chain). This means if you've done this event every year, you'll still have a reason to check out this year's celebration.
As usual, we also have
a comprehensive guide
to share with the Wowhead community that outlines everything you need to know about the event in a lot of detail.

A Guide to Patch 4.1's Vanity Items and a Wowhead Comic
As our own in-house artist Noxy would be quick to point out, 4.1 isn't all about the trolls and the 353 epics. It's also not just a filler patch meant to tide us over until Firelands. In fact, according to her, the patch is very important--it has a lot of shiny vanity items to play with! From ones you dig up to ones you're lucky enough to adopt, there were a lot of little things added in this patch. Read on for a wallpaper about them and a miniguide of where to find these fun items.
Rise of the Cute Kittens
Noxy was so inspired by the new vanity pets that were introduced that she made a wallpaper for you showing her true feelings towards this patch. Yes, she's awesomely talented. Yes, she should draw more.

In-depth Boss Strategies for Zul'Aman and Zul'Gurub
Now that the servers are stable, you're probably thinking of queuing for
Zul'Aman
or
Zul'Gurub
later on today. As you can imagine, slightly harder heroics is nothing to laugh about--especially if you choose to be brave and PUG them. Add in the fun with rare mount drops, epic BoE drops, and they can even seem like a nightmare.
We here at Wowhead have you covered, though! Every boss page on the database has a strategy up that's current as of last night. We're also posting them here for you in a nice miniguide so that you can use this post as a cheat sheet to how to do every new encounter in 4.1. So sit back and read on if you want to learn how to put those trolls in their place.

This version of Zul'Gurub is quite similar to the old version--the scenery hasn't changed much and some of the old bosses remain. Fortunately for you, there's a lot less trash and a lot more neutral Gurubashi trolls milling

Patch 4.1: Official Video and Wowhead Guide
There's an official video for Rise of the Zandalari: Patch 4.1 posted by Blizzard to share with you today.
The days when great troll empires stretched across ancient Kalimdor are long past. Millennia of war and internal strife have stripped these nations of their power, lands, and glory. As Azeroth recovers from the destruction of the Cataclysm, the world's divided troll populations face a bleak future. These dark times have spurred the trolls of the Zandalar, the historically wise and scholarly tribe from which all trolls originated, to take drastic action. They have embarked on a bold crusade to save their race by uniting trolls into a single mighty empire. With the Zandalari's aid, the fallen capitals of the Gurubashi and Amani nations -- Zul'Gurub and Zul'Aman -- are already rebuilding, replenishing their forces for a bloody campaign to expand their territories.
Yet Vol'jin and his Darkspear trolls are not aligned with the Zandalari. They have sworn to stand with their Horde comrades -- and even work with the Alliance -- should the trolls ignite a new war on Azeroth. Soon, Vol'jin might be forced to act on his p

Many players have alts, but are they geared? And how about your main, have you started raiding yet? Well, if your answer to either question was no, you're in luck. 4.1 introduces some additions that make the game more friendly and the gear gap smaller, from additional BoAs to changing valor point gains in heroics. Cataclysm Leveling Flow Guide: 1-60
Cataclysm tore the world asunder and redefined Azeroth--Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor will never be the same. However, as exciting as it's been to watch this all unfold, it also means that it's harder than it was before to get back into the groove of things if you have taken a break. Even starting a new alt can be a mystifying journey since all the zones have been returned and the landscape changed. Darkshore was hit with tragedy, the Barrens is split in two, and tensions have never been higher in Silverpine Forest. There’s too much to take in and it's hard to know where to start sometimes.
But don't worry--that's what we're here for, right? In addition to having
a lengthy guide to the Cataclysm changes
in our Cataclysm section of Wowhead, this post will get you up to speed on the general leveling progression of World of Warcraft for levels 1-60.
Find out where to go, what zones you shouldn't pass up, and more after the break! We've even included some fun items to hunt for to give you reasons to check out certain zones over others!

ZAM's RIFT Launch Day Guide

Well it's time to step out from under that rock, get out of that instance, stop farming those herbs and check out some of the badass features and content RIFT is promising. Will it succeed? You should be the judge. It's okay, we won't tell WoW you're cheating on it.

January 23rd
through
February 13th

It's worth mentioning that due to the Cataclysm, some Elder locations have been changed! Most Elders locations have changed only slightly, as they remain in the same general area - it's just that the general area itself may have moved!
Update!
We have now updated all 2011 event Elder locations, thanks to our community and a bit of elbow grease (let's hear it for

Ready for Raiding: Flasks, Elixirs, Potions and You!
Do you want to be better at your class? Sure, we all do. The first step to a successful raid is to learn as much as possible about playing your class to its potential, and executing what you've learned in a clean and understanding fashion. The next step? Mind-altering and strength-modifying chemicals!
No raiding career is complete without the hundreds of hours spent farming raw materials for consumables! Right? Of course, some clever players opt to instead farm the Auction House, scoring the sweet deals and making good plays that earn them the money to supplement their raiding "habit." For everyone else though, it means knowing an

and getting them the herbs they need to help you! So what flasks do you need? What herbs do they take? Where is lizard help? Don't worry, Wowhead's got you covered.
I've put together a guide to help familiarize players with the new consumables available for Cataclysm content. This should serve as an informative introduction as well as a strong reference for all of your flask, elixir and potion needs! Be sure to check out the detailed guide, including run-downs of all-things liquid and c

Cataclysm Daily Quests: Therazane
The Cataclysm expansion added thousands of new quests, and among these were quite a few new daily quests with which players can raise various reputations and earn some gold. I'll admit, I'm not particularly impressed with the monetary gain from these quests, as most quests award around or so, but I can tell that these quests were added as an alternate means of raising reputations without having to grind dungeons with the appropriate tabard on. That being said, I thought I'd take a look at the daily quests added for various factions with this expansion, starting with the big momma herself,
Therazane
!
The
Therazane
faction (and its dailies) will not become available until a significant amount of questing in
Tiefenheim
has been completed. You will first start earning Therazane reputation from quests upon completion of
Steinige Beziehungen
. By the time you complete all of the necessary quests in Deepholm to unlock the dailies, you will be Honored with
Therazane
. From there, you can do daily quests for a total of
1850 reputation
per day and you can use the

News Roundup: Rated Battlegrounds Honor Change, Traveling Azeroth
Just two little brief tidbits of news today!
Blizzard changes Rated Battlegrounds to award full Honor to players already at the Conquest Points cap, and have also posted a helpful and informative guide on getting around in the World of Warcraft!
We've recently made a change in an effort to promote continued play in Rated Battlegrounds. Now when a player is at their weekly Conquest cap they will receive the full amount of Honor from kills, objective completions, victories and losses while in a Rated Battleground match. Those not at their cap will continue to earn Conquest normally, and will only earn Honor once they reach their weekly cap.
Whether you’re capped and others on your team aren’t, or you’re all capped and just want to keep playing, we hope this change will allow more flexibility for those participating in Rated Battlegrounds.
Check out their informative post on travel methods in Azeroth and beyond after the break!
