If you can have it without aging, would you take it?
I know there are dilemmas like losing your loved ones and family, and I just wanted what people thought of it.
Please, no religious debates, opinions based on religion are fine, but no debating over that.
How about just perfect health but you can be stricken with outside forces, such as the gun.
Costs you nothing other than the consequences.
Edited: because people don't seem to bother reading the following posts.

I'd take it. Wait, does it mean I wouldn't die of old age, but would be able to die of other reasons? (like Cancer, shot in the head...)

Do I have to give anything in return? Like, you know, my soul? If not, then I'd definitely take it.

I have a relgious answer that would spawn a debate. However, eternal life in the context you are speaking, vampirish question.... no. Absolutely not. I look forward to experiencing my death, and not out of loathe for my life... simply because I think there is probably nothing like it.

@Ivokk: Going out with a bang, eh?
@MyTie: nice hat, interesting answer that you don't want to take it because of a traditional death seems more appealing.
@pudge05: I don't think Hollywood is the ideal place to spend the rest of your life at but you might be thinking of something else...

@MyTie: nice hat
Thanks. It is temporary, in the spirit of the pirate debate.

That's a really hard decision actually...
I would like immortality only to observe the things to come, really.
After all, humanity progresses...

I wouldn't take your version, I would however take, say, not aging, and if you die you simply 're-incarnate' if that can be used here... think Claire in Heroes :/ That one might be good for MyTie too because he could experience a slow and painful death... If he wanted >.>... <3 :D

I'd take it.
Would there be a loophole to bring a loved one with? Just one, like a wife?
If I could bring someone with, then heck yes!
If no... then probably not.
Classic answers I was expecting.

After all, humanity progresses...
I was thinking somewhere along those lines.

Laihendi would take it, and just kill himself if he ever reached a point where he didn't want to live anymore. That seems like the obvious thing to do... live as long as you want, and die when you want.

The thing about immortality is that even if got shot or something you'd still live forever. As long as humanity exists you'd be known as the guy that lived 200(, 500, 10.000, ...) years. Not to mention the fact that you'd be able to witness the future become history. And that's just...good for the ego.

QFT. The whole immortality dilemma is if you could never die at all, that's when it gets tricky. But if you can just put a gun in your mouth and pull the trigger when insanity starts to overtake you, then there's really no drawback.

Id take it if i could commit suicide. Better yet, if you ever get bored just join the army! Serve the country that youve watched for the last 3,000 years!
