(( Not sure if I'll have acess to a computer on Saturday, so I'm going to do ahead and post this early. Enjoy ))
- Nilon opened his eyes. He was lying on his back, above him was a sheet of white canvas, the dim sunlight of the Plaguelands shining through.
- He tried to sit up, but found it was too difficult. He looked down at his chest, arms and legs. About three layers of bandages covered them, the final set already drenched with his blood. He had an idea why: the dark energy had hit him like pin-needles, piercing his flesh, veins and organs, and ramming themselves into his bones.
- He looked back up towards the sky, then he heard someone come in. Moments later, he saw Maxwell Tyrosus standing over him. "Are you alive?"
- Nilon, too weak and in pain to talk, nodded.
- The Argent Dawn leader grinned. "Don't worry, once the Priests have had a chance to get to you, you'll be right as rain. You'll have to excuse their tardiness at the moment, though, they had to attend to us as quickly as possible. You understand, yes?
- Again Nilon nodded.
- Lord Tyrosus looked towards the front of the tent. Someone was talking, but Nilon couldn't quite make it out. Maxwell then walked out of the tent and several Priests moved in. They set to work mending Nilon's wounds immediately.
...
- Nilon walked out of the medical tent. He was still a bit sore, but at least he wasn't dead. Or worse.
- He gazed around the area. Light's Hope Chapel was much like the Scarlet Monastery in the Trisfal Glades, or Tyr's hand to the South: a show of the Light's defiance against the Scourge. However, instead of zealous, rage-driven Crusaders, the Warriors, Priests, and Paladins of the Argent Dawn - cool, collected, and honor-driven - patrolled the grounds. Nilon wasn't sure of the Dawn's origins, but he was sure that - whatever they were - they were as honorable as its members.
- "Sir Nilon Lighteye of Stormwind?" Nilon turned, an Argent guard stood behind him.
- "I am," Nilon replied.
- "Duke Nicholas Zverenhoff requests your presence at his tent on the other side of camp."
- Nilon was stunned. Duke Zverenhoff was a Paladin of no small regard. Why someone such as he would want to see Nilon, the Blood Elf had no idea. "Thank you," he said to the guard and made his way to the other side of the camp.
- As he approached the tent, several healers came out and brushed past him on their way to their next stop. Nilon wondered why, but as he entered he found the answer. Zverenhoff was lying on his cot, severely wounded. He looked to be in even worse condition than Nilon had been. But if the Priests had been able to heal him, why hadn't they been able to heal Zverenhoff as well?
- The Duke heard Nilon come in and propped himself up on his elbows. "Sir Nilon Lighteye, I presume?" he asked. Nilon nodded. "Weren't expecting to see me in this condition, were you?" He laid back down and took a few breaths, just the simple action of sitting up apparently caused him a good bit of pain.
- "Who did this to you?" Nilon asked.
- "Some Death Knight," Zvernhoff said. "Pitch-black hair. Sent two lesser Death Knights to fight me first. Dispatched them easily enough, though the greater one got the better of me. That wouldn't have normally put me in this condition, but I
was
off of the Chapel grounds."
- Nilon was shocked. Had he heard that right? A Death Knight with pitch-black hair and two lesser minions? Could Morec be here already? "Why did you want to see me?" Nilon asked.
- "Just yesterday I took several troops up to Browman Mill. It was to be a simple attack against the Scourge, but it was to also be the beginning of a full-scale assault against the Noxious Glade. But there was a Necromancer there, a powerful one. He's building something. I tried to stop him, but we were beaten. Hence my current state."
- "I still don't-," Nilon stopped himself. "You want
me
to lead another attack?"
"I'm in no condition to do it myself, and I heard of your exploit in the Chapel - that was no small feat. I've talked with Lord Tyrosus about it, and He's agreed." Zverenhoff extended his hand. "Good luck."
- Nilon grasped the Duke's hand with his own. "Thank you."
- The Blood Elf walked out of the tent. Thrrag was standing nearby. "Ah, Thrrag, I was hoping to find you. Have you seen Celen?"
- "I have," Thrrag said, "but there's something that I need to tell you first."
- "Can it wait? I'm in a hurry."
- "Trust me," the orc continued. "This will be worth your time."
...
- Celen was standing on the edge of the camp, looking out to the West. Nilon took a breath and walked towards her.
- "What do you want?" Celen asked rudely as she heard him approach.
- "Is that any way to to talk to me?" Nilon replied. "After all, I
did
just save your life."
- "You should have just burned me. Save me both undeath
and
becoming the monster that I am."
- "You're the one who absorbed the Fel Relic," Nilon reminded her.
- "I only did it to save you!" she said, then caught herself. "I mean; you and the others."
- "You know I don't buy that," Nilon said, he moved closer.
- Celen swung a hand at the male Blood Elf, but Nilon dodged just enough to avoid getting hit. "It was your fault!" she screamed. "You and this entire mission! I'm a good person, I didn't deserve to become this abomination!"
- "You are
not
an abomination," Nilon said. "And, even if you were, you'd still be beautiful."
- A twinge of a smile tugged at Celen's lips, but then her face hardened back into hate and she turned away. "Just leave me alone."
- "Not until I've said what needs to be said," Nilon told her. "Celen, looking back now I see the subtle clues in everything you've done up till now: saving Jason and I from the Naga, saving me from Morec's minions, actually
talking
to me, a Sin'dorei, while you were a High Elf." He grinned. "Incinerating a rabbit."
- Celen turned around, confusion on her face. "How do you know-."
- "Thrrag told me, he also told me that it was
you
who begged him to revive me - in doing so, helping him find redemption. But that's not important. What is important, though, is that I'm going to help you deal with what you're going though. I'm going to help you learn to master your hunger. Celen, I
love
you."
- Celen looked up at his face, deep into his eyes. Only, this time, she looked past the fel-green glow of the demonic taint. His eyes were a beautiful, deep blue.
- "I love you, too," Celen said. Nilon slowly pulled her close to him and bent his head down towards her. She tilted her head up toward his.
- They kissed.

She's just a normal Blood Elf I think.
Aaaw, how romantic :)

but is celen now an undeath?
No, she was saved from undeath by the intervention of Nilon and the Argent Dawn on Page 39. Remember, the exorcism.
Had it failed, then she
would
be undead.

Writer's Commentary:
- Overall, I'm both surprised and pleased at the comments as to my wrapping up of the romantic - for lack of a better word - struggle between Celen and Nilon. I, personally, doubted my ability to actually write something so heart warming. Thankfully, though, it would seem I was proven wrong.
- For those of you confused by what happened to Celen, let me try to explain: she absorbed the Fel Relic, turned into a Blood Elf, began to descend into a Wretched, absorbed a Necromancer, began to be turned into an undead, was purrified by Nilon's holy power, and is now Blood Elf. A bit confusing, but it makes sense in my twisted mind.
- Page 40, the epic saga of Light and Death with come to a close. Who will
win
? Who will
lose
? Who will
die
?

I can see Thragg getting killed since his life is technically forfeit to the spirts now.
Good story though, just didn't think Celen would confess that easily though. Then again, I've never been redeemed from undeath, so I wouldn't know.
